Welcome

So.... hello and welcome. If you're reading this I'm pretty sure you have already experienced Natalie Rice and the crazy world of! If you havent yet had the joys, thats me... Natalie, and this blogger will allow you to keep up to date with my antics. If nothing else I hope it puts a smirk on your face and maybe a little chuckle now and then.

Crazy.... but yes, I carry a full size, office task chair, conveniently covered in a bright orange fabric... here, there and everywhere!

It all started back in 2008, where I took on a role as a sales extrodinaire... Possibly not the greatest of years to become a sales person, but if I knew the credit crunch was going to happen I wouldnt be working for living now would I!

I began business networking, getting up stupidly early to eat breakfast and talk business with people. For those that are unaware of business networking i'll explain briefly... many people in suits come along and tell each other what they do and about their business, in the hope they will create opportunities to sell their services.

"Hi my names Natalie, I work for a company called Kinnarps, we're the third largest office furniture comp.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" After hearing myself say the same lines over and over AND OVER again, I began to drift off and daydream... there must be something else to this! I wanted to find the key to this sales malarcki...

Now don't get me wrong the company isn't snoozworthy at all and there's a great deal more to office furniture than what people first perceive. But that's the thing.. as soon as I said furniture.... not only did I want to fall asleep, because I'd been saying it all morning (it became a script.. I found myself saying it to my friends and family without even realising it!) but the people hearing my little speech would slowly slip away and the interest would fade. Thus defeating the object!

I eventuly stumbled across 4Networking business breakfast meetings (http://www.4networking.biz/) People were friendly, relaxed and the whole idea became that little bit easier, and yes... even fun. Shortly after, a colleague of mine suggested I take a chair to use as a demo.. props make a sales pitch far more interesting..so that is exactly what I did.

My personality desperatly wanted to escape... I needed to catch the viewers attention and I wanted to have a little fun.. and so it began..

The girl with the Orange Hair and the Orange Chair!
